Creganna-Tactx Medical with locations in Ireland, Marlborough, MA, Plymouth, MN, Campbell, CA and Singapore is world leader in designing and manufacturing Hypotubes.

Hypotubes are long metal tubing with mechanical features. With a typical length between 0,75 and 1,25 meter they are are crucial components of balloon catheters. Normally they are manufactured of medical grade stainless steel. Material combinations of metal with polymer coating are also possible.

Hypotubes have important functions:

  • helps the cardiologist to navigate through the vascular system
  • ensures the exact placement of balloons and stents
  • enables the inflation and deflation of the balloon

Hypotube based catheter shafts offer excellent kink resistance, high torque and push. These characteristics enable hypotubes to be the ideal component for PTCA applications. Leading manufactures use hypotubes also for neurological applications as well as peripheral vascular interventions and imaging.
