Friction Test System

Harland has developed a compact and flexible instrument specifically designed to measure lubricious coating performance on medical devices such as catheters, guidewires and similar products.FTS6000-8091_800x600

The "pinch test" menthod has been the standard for measuring the performance of lubricious coatings. The FTS 6000 measures the surface friction as well as the coating durability by pulling the test samples through 2 silicone rubber pads clamped at programmable force. The built in software combined with the color touchscreen interface make it easy and fast for the operator to create, modify, store and analyze test protocols. The results of the test can be either viewed on the touchscreen or sent to an external printer or be exported to another computer.

The features of the FTS 6000 enables it to be the perfect surface property measurement tool for your coating development, quality control and market benchmarking.
